What does the word "no" mean in japanese? i don't mean a "noh" play, which is a kind of japanese theater,?

i mean the word "no" as used in these japanese film titles: tanin no kao, ningen no joken, yaju no seishun, ten no amijima, hadaka no shima, minato no nihon musume, amai yoru no hate... does "no" in japanese mean "of" in english? anyone who speaks japanese and knows what "no" means in japanese?
