How often did children and teens eat fast food in the olden days?
I remember once, it must have been late 50s or early 60s, we did go to a MacDonalds. My dad went in and got the food, I think, and we ate in the car. Don't remember how it tasted, but I do know we never went back. But we did have a sort of "fast food" we loved during my elementary school days. It was a place in Virginia called The Hot Shoppe, and they made the world's best barbeque sandwiches, cole slaw on top of the meat, of course. I don't think fast food became the family staple it is today, though til maybe the 70s.
